Jack’s 30 year career as a preeminent transactional lawyer has encompassed the intricacies of telecommunications and technology business and the intersection of those sectors with complex areas of the law. Having served as a General Counsel for such diverse companies as GTE Telenet, Sprint International, BT Global, and Motive, Inc. Jack has had first hand experience in resolving the legal issues and business challenges faced by players in an ever changing regulatory and business environment both in the US and abroad. Known as a businessman’s attorney Jack has advised Boards of Directors and executive management with a particular emphasis in the areas of strategic partnering, distribution and sales, corporate structure, and complex contracting in the telecommunications and technology fields. Jack has personally led and “project managed” dozens of complex transactions. Most recently Jack has led the negotiating team for Motive, Inc. on its sale to Alcatel Lucent.

Jack’s achievements have included:

  • Negotiating dozens of joint ventures ranging in scale up to $1 billion in assets
  • Leading negotiations for critical supply contracts with the world’s largest telecommunications providers.
  • Structuring of the commercial arrangements for world wide service and product offerings
  • The negotiation of numerous strategic partnerships.
  • Settlement of complex litigation. including antitrust proceedings in Australia and shareholder and derivative litigation,
  • Strategic advice on mergers and acquisitions.
  • Melding of regulatory requirements into user friendly commercial tools.

Additionally Jack has worked with multinational clients on privacy as well as compliance with EU data transfer regulations.
